"THE LAME CRICK'T"
Trilussa's fable

By now I'm standing just on a single leg
- said a Cricket - the one I'm missin'
I left it fasten'd to the somersault.
When I saw to be a prisoner
A string on mine foot, in a boy's hand
I didn't think it over:
I'd fly again in the garden.
Great was the pain…,but the blood
Drop comin' out of the wound
glisten'd in the sun like a spark.
Maybe one day my God will bless
Each blood drop required
To write the word freedom!

(Trilussa's fable)

THINK IT OVER, TRILUSSA'S FABLE:

Here Trilussa pleasantly reproposes the principle of freedom and is persuasive on such a great subject, with a short fable text.
* Think of some high principles (justice, solidarity, etc.) and try to weave a short fable including them.
